March is Women’s History Month and unless you are like Mork, the television alien from Ork, a planet where children are born middle-aged and from an egg, there is a beautiful soul somewhere responsible for your being here. The Godfather of Soul, James Brown, famously sang “It’s A Man’s World,” but even he knew that it would be “nothing without a woman or a girl.”
February, as the shortest month of the year, seemed to evaporate right in front of me. Perhaps I was too busy celebrating the gorgeous snow and unseasonably warm/cold temperatures to notice that it’s already March and the relationship between my To Do List and its cousin, Already Done and Conquered List, is showing signs of neglect.
March is Women’s History Month. Let’s paint the town purple and celebrate!
I’ve been a woman for almost 47 years and the older I get, the more I love the thought. To be someone’s mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, spouse, friend, sister, aunt, and/or chief cheerleader, delights my heart.
