January 2022, a new year, and another opportunity to greet what’s in store. Like the McDonald’s commercial, “I’m loving it!” The wonderful thing about this first month of the year is the fresh outlook it offers, the chance to finish what we’ve started, and to chart a new path.
As 2021 swirls rapidly to an end and we prepare to greet another new year, it’s important that we pause and show some love and respect for all we’ve experienced, endured, and overcome the past 12 months. Most of us probably expected a pandemic-free year and a return to some sense of what we call normal.
Welcome to 2021, a year of new beginnings
I love January and I’m excited that 2021 finally shoved 2020 to the pavement so we can move forward. As 2021 unfolds, let’s take a moment to reflect—a moment—not long, difficult hours of laments and rehashing of the miseries, and get ready for this time of opportunity and adventure.
When 2020 roared in, we had such high hopes. It was the beginning of the decade, (or the end, depending on your perspective) a leap year, an election year—our plans were big, and our dreams were bigger. Then came COVID-19 and everything normal and logical got turned on its ear.
Being rich is not the only way to make a difference, but it helps
Most of us don’t wear a “world’s richest person” label so what we do with our money may not be newsworthy, however, I suspect if we did and we were trying to leave the world better than we found it, we’d have a few projects on our list.
